Visa Regulations in Bhutan
- All individuals planning to visit Bhutan must obtain a visa, with the exception of Indian visitors, who will need a permit instead.
- Citizens of Bangladesh and the Maldives can acquire a visa upon arrival at the entry point.
- To facilitate the visa or permit application process, visitors can utilize the online services provided by the Department of Immigration. Alternatively, tourism service providers like Druk Asia can assist in processing travel documents and organizing the trip.
- A valid passport copy is mandatory, with the passport required to remain valid for at least six months beyond the intended departure date from Bhutan.
- Travel insurance must be in effect for the entire duration of the trip.
- Submission of a recent passport-size photograph is also necessary.
- Children under the age of 5 are exempt from the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). However, a visa application fee of USD 40 is applicable.
