Background
Wangditse is an old monastery near Thimphu, Bhutan, built in 1750 during the rule of the eighth Desi, Druk Rabgay. It was an important religious and administrative center, dedicated to the protective deity Yeshey Gonpo (Mahakala). The monastery offers beautiful views of Thimphu Valley and is a popular spot for hikers and pilgrims.
