Background
Buddha Point, also known as Kuenselphodrang Nature Park, is a major landmark in Thimphu, Bhutan. It features a giant statue of Buddha Dordenma, which is one of the largest Buddha statues in the world at 169 feet tall. Construction started in 2006 to celebrate the 60th birthday of the fourth King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, and to fulfill a prophecy that the statue would bring peace and happiness. Offering stunning views of Thimphu Valley, Buddha Point is a popular spot for locals and tourists, symbolizing Bhutan’s dedication to Buddhism and peace.
