Background
Paro Taktsang, also called the Tiger’s Nest, is an important symbol of Bhutanese spirituality and culture. It sits on a cliff in the upper Paro valley. It’s very important in Vajrayana Buddhism, especially because of Padmasambhava, known as Guru Rinpoche. According to legend, Padmasambhava flew here on a tigress’s back, which is why it’s called the Tiger’s Nest. It’s a significant place of pilgrimage and devotion for Buddhists worldwide. Visiting Paro Taktsang is not only a physical journey but also a spiritual one, offering pilgrims and travellers alike a profound experience of reverence, tranquillity, and connection with the divine.
