Wangdue Phodrang Dzongkhag is one of the largest and most diverse districts in Bhutan. It is located in central Bhutan and is bordered by the districts of Punakha, Gasa, Trongsa, Tsirang, and Dagana. The district is known for its historic fortress, Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, which was built in 1638 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.
Punakha Dzongkhag is located in western Bhutan, bordered by Gasa to the north, Thimphu to the west, and Wangduephodrang to the east and south. The district lies at an altitude of 1100 to 2500 meters above sea level. It currently serves as the winter residence for the Central Monastic Body.
Paro Dzongkhag is in the northwest of Bhutan. It sits 2,250 meters above sea level. The Dzongkhag has the country’s only international airport, making it an important gateway to Bhutan. This airport helps farmers and business owners in Paro Dzongkhag a lot.
